Classification of status of residence by if you can work or not

Thank you for always coming to my page.

There are many types of status of residence.

To classify them clearly, it would be helpful to use the standard that you can work or not.

1 The status of residence with which you can work in specific field only.

In this category, there are

“Business Manager” for manager or administrator of a company, etc,

“Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services” for engineer such as of mechanical engineering, interpreter, designer, language instructor at a private company or marketing specialist, and so on.

2 The status of residence with which you can’t work.

In this category, there are “Cultural Activities”, “Temporary Visitor”, “Trainee”, “Student”, and “Dependent”.

However, “Student”, “Dependent”, and “Cultural Activities” holders are allowed to work part time if they get permit from immigration office.

3 The status of residence with which you can work regardless of kinds of jobs.

In this category, there are “Permanent Resident”, “Spouse or Child of Japanese National”, “Spouse or Child of Permanent Resident”, and “Long Term Resident”.
